Programme at the Herring Market

On the deck of the sailing ship Vivan:
At 10 a.m. Juhana Vartiainen opens The Herring Market

At 16:00 the results of the best products competition will be announced and prizes will be awarded.

At the Lübeck Pier:
At 12 noon, the Baltic Herring row and the Baltic Herring Walk will arrive accompanied by a Brass Band.

On the square:
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Seija Vesterinen’s accordion music

At the market at noon, 3pm and 5pm:
Spelmän Ohoj Trio performs “pelimanni” tunes
Waltzes swayed by storms, polkas whipped up by mermaids and polkas hummed by smugglers! Veera Hirvaskero (vocals, harmonium), Sven-Göran Olin (double bass) and Jimmy Träskelin (vocals, harmonicas, violin, guitar) from Taalintehdas serve up folk music with an authentic “pelimanni” feel.

NOTE: Contrary to previous information, Spelmän Ohoj Trio will not perform on Wednesday 9.10.
