Programme at the Herring Market

On the deck of the sailing ship Vivan:
At 10 a.m. Juhana Vartiainen opens The Herring Market

At 12 noon Speech programme:
– The Baltic Sea Challenge: How is Helsinki’s maritime area doing, what is Helsinki doing and how can you contribute to the well-being of the maritime area
– Marthaförbundet: Marthas introduce themselves and tell about their activities.
– Baltic Herring row: The Baltic Herring row organisers and Essi Isomäki will introduce themselves and talk about this year’s Baltic Herring row and the new Baltic Herring Walk. This year’s theme is Live Marine Nature, stopping the underwater nature trail.

At 16:00 the results of the best products competition will be announced and prizes will be awarded.

At the Lübeck Pier:
At 12 noon, the Baltic Herring row and the Baltic Herring Walk will arrive accompanied by the Finnish Club Brass Band.

On the square:
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Seija Vesterinen’s accordion music

At the market:
12–16.30: Seija Vesterinen’s accordion music

At the Biennale pavilion:
16.30-18.45 Herring dances. Marianne Krause’s dance lessons from 16.30–17.30, dances to record music from 17–18.45
